A Few Ways Not To Get Scammed By Amazon

Besides not shopping on Amazon?

Short of that, you need to take care when buying.

Specifically, when it’s a third-party seller, which is the majority of Amazon listings these days.

Even one that qualifies as “Prime.”  Technically, the third-party seller is the party you’re transacting with.  However, as Amazon is hosting the listing, often storing the goods at an Amazon warehouse, and Amazon employees are picking it, packing it, and shipping it, they, are a party to the scam.

Of course, Amazon takes pains to make sure you don’t believe Amazon is legally liable, even as they profit from the transaction.  Though courts are starting to rule that they are liable.  And could be liable here.

Still, here is some advice from How-To Geek.

And some more advice from a Forbes Contributor.
